Texas Foster Youth Justice Project
Free legal help for youth who have experienced foster care. Helping youth to understand their legal rights by providing legal advice, assistance, guidance, and representation in enforcing foster youth rights. They also educate the general public about the legal needs and concerns of youth in foster care.

Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)

Family Unification Program (FUP)
Program where Housing Choice Vouchers (HCVs) are provided to youths at least 18 years old and not more than 21 years old who left foster care at age 16 or older and who lack adequate housing. In addition to rental assistance, the PCWA must provide supportive services to FUP youth for the full 18 months of program participation; examples of targeted skills include money management, job preparation, educational counseling, and proper nutrition and meal preparation.

A local non-profit providing first-class, affordable homes and support services offering low-income individuals financial education and homebuyer courses, matched savings accounts, financial coaching, finding money for education, self-employed/small business support, and free income tax preparation.

Housing Authority of the City of Austin (HACA)
Housing Authority of the City of Austin (HACA) owns and operates 1,929 units of conventional public housing in 19 developments throughout Austin. Development sites range from high-rise apartments on Lady Bird Lake to small duplexes in residential neighborhoods. HACA also manages the Housing Choice Voucher/Section 8 Program that provides rental vouchers for more than 5,000 units of housing in Austin’s private rental market.
